We’ve found 5 of the best wallet friendly restaurants that are sure to impress.
London Bridge – Italian – Mains: £4 – £11
When we first heard about Padella, it was from the stunning instagram posts our friends were making.
Visiting it was a game changer for us. We now make all our own pasta and pizzas at home after watching the chefs in the open kitchen turn pieces of dough into pure heaven for our mouths.
No reservations so you need to queue… but it’s 100% worth it.
The only place in London we will ever queue for a table (there is too much choice around this city to justify wasting time waiting for a restaurant that isn’t Padella)
After dinner, take a wander through Borough Market or a romantic stroll along the Southbank of the River Thames to admire some of the best views London has to offer – even better when dusk is approaching!
Southwark – Portuguese – Mains: £9.50 – £15.50
To say Caso Do Frango is like a more stylish Nando’s would be a huge insult. This place oozes class, from the distressed warehouse vibe interior to the perfectly char-grilled chicken. We couldn’t get enough.
Not only is it a perfect place for delicious Portuguese food, it is home to one of London’s best Speakeasy cocktail bars – The Green Room – hidden through a secret door (Tues – Sat from 6pm).
We bet your date won’t expecting that!
Tower Bridge – British – Mains: £12.95 – £24.95
Ok… so this one is a bit of a ball-ache.
To get an igloo, you either need to sign up to their newsletter for release dates or book a Coppa Club Igloo with this booking link.
However, most tables for 2 are unavailable but igloos for 4-8 guests are.
So the solution would be to go on a mates date and share a bubble with people you know.
There isn’t really a more spectacular setting for dinner in London right now for this price.
Piccadilly – French/American – Mains: £13.75 for a 3 course fixed menu
A Parisian street cafe…one of London’s best French brasseries…a 1920’s American bar…right next to Piccadilly Circus. What more could your date want?!
Brasserie Zedel presents delicious food with French flair in gorgeous settings. Occasionally hosting cabaret and other entertainment, especially on specific dates, there never seems to be a dull moment in this venue.
The menu has a fantastic fixed price 2 or 3 course dinner
Or you could opt for something from the equally affordable dish of the day, fish or meat dishes.
The main brasserie is simply stunning but we also loved the quirky cafe style bar and the Art Deco American bar sent us into a prohibition like giddiness.
Pekham – South African/ Local/ Seasonal – Mains: £8.50 – £18
KUDU brings fresh seasonal ingredients to Peckham in South London with a South African twist.
Run by a couple team, they were recently awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand 2019.
The food is wholesome and beautifully presented whilst the decor of distressed exposed brick works beautifully in the Peckham surrounds.
KUDU takes the local restaurant concept to a whole new level.
